Problems and Solutions in Digital Regulation and Governance
Course description
Policymakers find themselves confronted with unprecedented challenges in the digital era. The digital transformation offers powerful tools for governments to increase their service capacity and cut down waste, but also presents fresh concerns over privacy protection, misinformation, and data security. We invite guest speakers from the forefront of practice to share their insights into the regulatory issues in virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, smart cities, blockchain technology, virtual assets and transactions, and other areas of disruptive technological change. This course adopts a generalist approach and delve into the issues using accessible language to ensure that students with no prior knowledge of data science or technical background can fully engage with the material and participate actively in the discussions.
